So I just realized that all of my posts as of late have been videos. I guess I've been too busy/lazy to actually write about what's going on. Firstly, I wanna say congrats to all who graduated! I thought portfolio this quarter was great! Saw a lot of talent in that room, so good job everyone!
the quarter has ended, but now I've gotta stress about graduating next quarter. It's weird cause I guess it really hasn't hit me too hard yet. Despite this, I need to figure out what I should be putting in my portfolio. I've enjoyed working at Flying Lab these past few months, and I think working with environments has really grown on me. I mean, I used to never draw environments because they always seemed too intimidating, but after spending these few months working on a 3D environment, I'm sorta getting a motivation to start learning environments, and maybe even specialize in it.. yeah, big jump, but in all seriousness, everyone wants to do characters.. you rarely find someone who enjoys environments over characters, and are good at what they do. So I mean, it's kind of a risk if I start studying environments during my last quarter and try to get a lot of environmental stuff in my portfolio, but I'm just feeling so motivated to do that right now..
Guess I'll just work at it these coming weeks and see where I go. I mean obviously I don't plan on having a portfolio entirely of environments, but it wouldn't hurt to work on some, just to show that I don't only specialize in characters.
