Title: i threw you away

Rating: G

Pairing: broken!sunny/tiffany | sunny/taeyeon | yuri/tiffany (whut? i'm finally writing about my ships?)

Notes: Angsty! Again! Song - Obsession by SHINee. I'm not happy with this oneshot simply because it feels like I rushed it. I fell out of the mood, so I'm sorry if it doesn't seem like the usual stuff I post.

Summary: She once said that all she needed was her, but in the end she gave up on her.

i threw you away

The bright sound of her laughter filled her ears, but it only made her frown. Even being in another room, she could recognize that laugh. Having heard it for three years, she could even recognize it within a loud crowd. She wondered what was causing the laughter, but her thoughts trailed off when she heard another voice follow.

“Yah!” Taeyeon’s irritated voice filled the dorm and even more laughter ensued.

“I told you to turn left, not right! Now you have random piece sticking out of nowhere,” Sunny’s voice was full of amusement. She could picture the older girl with a huge grin on her face while her eyes twinkled out of joy. That picture made her grimace as she tried to eat the ramyun in front of her.

“What would I ever do without you, Soonkyu?” Taeyeon’s voice was dry, but there was a hint of seriousness in it.

“That’s right, I’m all you ever need,” Sunny jokingly replied back, but she could hear the underlying truth behind them.

Her chopsticks started to lamely stir the noodles while tears started to well in her eyes. She bit the inside of her cheek in an attempt to hold back her tears, but it was no use when a couple trailed down her face. She took a deep breath and looked up at the ceiling to calm down, but it seemed to make things worse.

She watched as the older girl ran around the cold beach with a smile. Sunny’s unwavering energy made her happy and it pushed away any kind of cold she was feeling. She tried to pay attention to what the interviewer was asking her, but the only thing that kept her attention was the carefree attitude Sunny displayed. All she heard next was being able to go after the other girl and she quickly made her way down the beach.

“Chagiya!” she cried out while she ran as she clung onto her jacket. She saw Sunny turn to her with a bright smile on her face. The older girl ran towards her and immediately hugged her, suddenly feeling the cold. She wrapped Sunny with the pink blanket she had and pulled the girl as close as possible.

“All you need is Sunny?” the interviewer asked her and she simply nodded because it was true. The grin on her face must have been obvious since she felt Sunny poke her against her side.

“All I need is Fany.” She held back the growing elation inside of her and was about to pull Sunny against her when the older girl stepped away from her. “Catch me if you can!” Her brow rose as she watched Sunny step away from her and spun around.

“No! I’m staying inside of this jacket!” she called out, but the look on Sunny’s face made her fall silent. She watched as Sunny glared at her and paced towards her. A loud high pitched squeal left her lips as she ran away knowing all too well that Sunny was after her. She ran for few steps, but slowed her pace and allowed the older girl to catch her. Arms found their way around her waist and she felt warmth across her back.

“Stop running away from me,” Sunny’s voice made her smile. She looked over her shoulder and saw the pout on the older girl’s face.

“I promise.”

“Promise you’ll be there for me, Soonkyu?”

“I’ll always be there for you, Taeyeon-ah.”

“You promised that you’d stop running away from me and there you are running away from me to Yuri! You get angry with me for being close to the other girls, but there you are always attached to either Taeyeon or Jessica and now Yuri. I love you, Miyoung-ah, but this isn’t fair! I’ve never had a problem with you being with them, but I’ve had enough. You’re always spending your time with everyone else! Did it ever occur to you that maybe I wanted to spend some time with you?” Sunny stared at the girl in front of her. She saw the quivering shoulders, and the tears that fell from the bowed head. She was sick and tired of always being left to the side.

“Soonkyu… I love you,” the words barely sounded. Tiffany lifted her head and tried to reach out to the other girl, but Sunny took a step away from her.

“Then, you wouldn’t have thrown me away.”

“Wait, where are you going?”

Sunny looked back and weakly smiled at her, “I’m going home. I need some time to think.”

“I’m so sorry,” she muttered. Her chopsticks fell from her hand and she stood from her chair. She wiped at the tears that fell and quickly made her way through the living room to her bedroom. The short laughter she heard from Taeyeon and Sunny pierced her heart. It should have been her and Sunny. She knew that if it was not for her own fear of the unknown that she would have been happy. She nearly tripped over her own feet as she tried to get away from the other two, but someone caught her instead. Behind blurry eyes, she looked up at who caught her.

“Stop running, Fany-ah.” She fell to her knees, but the person who caught her lowered her gently. She pressed her face against the other girl’s chest and started to cry. Tears from suppressed pain cascaded down her face and into the other girl’s shirt.

“Help me, Yuri-ah…”
