I attended a training course today. It was held at work, which was very handy. Topic? Makaton.
http://www.makaton.org/about/ss_what.htm It was a lot of fun, incredibly intensive though. There were 5 of us from my department there, as well as two artists and other museum people as well. The whole point, but didn't actually find this out until halfway through the day, is that we will be helping out with an art project. It is all to do with inclusion. It will be a bunch of adults with learning difficulties who will be coming in to the museum. They will use our collection to inspire some kind of art. We will be helping to greet them, and maybe use our newly acquired Makaton skills as well.
Heading to South London tomorrow night for Australia Day celebrations with
stimpson and
alfykins. The plan is to eat and drink and be merry I believe! Anzac biscuits, lemon, lime and bitters, and burgers with beetroot and pineapple! YUMMO!
And to finish off, some photos I have taken recently.
