well, i have now finished FEAR, and i cna tell you a few things about playing this game:
1st, playing it in the dark increses the fear efect, but playing in low light, or with a falty light is worse, especialy the faulty light
2nd, make sure you post a do not disterb sign, or you are likly to have the shit scared out of you when the door opens, or some one knocks
3rd, ensure that there is some distraction to go and do evry now and then when your nerves get so frayed that you can't think straight anymore
4th, ensure that you leave at least 1h befor sleeping after playing to let the nightmares set in for perfect restless night, adn wakeing up in the morning screeming
yes, i am a wuss, this game actualy scared me (and there is not much in the way of games/films/books that does this any more. i would on the other hand realy recomend this game, it is great. you ahve slowmo and big guns, and ghosts and everything else that makes a shooter great....ok, there isn't a flame thrower, but you even get to dual wield the pistols. my only main fault with this game, is the one i ahve with many games, and that is...needs more guns, lots of guns
it has also inspired me to work on a horror game which i may run in term 2, if i have time, based on FEAR, Elfen Lied, and the Greg Mandle books by Peter Hammilton.
now all i need is the FEAR sound track for ambiant music
oh and the serenity thing:
