I am trying to catch up with the comics and graphic novels I have bought but not read. I have two "Love and Rockets" collections which were half price in a Forbidden Planet sale. If you ever wondered where the "and Rockets" came from the collection I am reading would tell you.

It is a bit like someone in the seventies took too many drugs and read too much really bad science fiction. It is parody to some extent, but it is hard to tell for sure. Actually 'parody' is the wrong word. It is just not really very serious.

Love and Rockets short stories Amor Y Cohetes and Girl from HOPPERS

Most of the time Love and Rockets is based in the real world - with a smattering of super heroes coming in now and again.

Also on the To Be Read pile is Alice In Sunderland by Bryan Talbot signed and illustrated by the author. I have a Bryan Talbot print in the loo, don't you know.

I have approx 750 comics - maybe more to read. 2000AD

I just picked up this one in a cheap book store. Nikolai Dante: Sympathy for the Devil. It is a 2000AD collection and basically a lot of fun with sword fighting and romance 600 years into the future.

Right, that is enough. I am off to cook pizza
