So every sunday Zane and I spend the afternoon/evening with his sister Gemma, and her two beautiful daughters, Lyric(3) and Kaliya(7 months). We usually take turns playing with Lyric, then make dinner, give the girls a bath, and perhaps read Lyric a story before she heads to bed.
This weekend Gemma and the girls came to our place for dinner. We were worried Lyric would be bored being in our not very child friendly apt, but we found plenty of fun things to do. Such as jumping on the bed, chasing and playing with Poochie, making popcorn (she's never actually seen the kernels popped, and seemed very entertained and intrigued by it) roasting coffee, enjoying the view off our deck and many more simple pleasures.
When it was time to leave, Lyric said to me "I just peed my pants." I honestly thought she was joking, but when I looked at the wet spot on the carpet I realized she wasn't. She then said "Maybe we could take a bath now?" as a solution to the pants peeing problem, and clearly as a way to delay her departure from us. When Gemma told her she still had to leave, wet pants or not, her eyes started to well up. "Why are you sad Lyric?", Gemma asked.
She could barely get the words out.
Is it bad that I'm happy that my neice loves spending time with me so much, that she went to such measures as peeing her pants in hopes that she wouldnt have to leave?
I guess this means it won't be hard to convince her to have a sleep over with us.
