This can only mean one thing... yup, it's Legacy time.
I've been wanting to do this type of Legacy for years but it was never the right time. But after uninstalling my Sims 2 in an experiment to make Sims 3 run faster (barely worked by the way) I realized that I could finally do it.

The premise is to get as much out of the game as possible. Before when I had all the EPs and most of the SP there was just too much too do. So... this Legacy is starting out from scratch with only the base game installed. That's right, the only thing to keep my company will be some CC. Then each generation I will install one EP and one SP and devote that generation to explore them completely.

I know, I know, I'm talking too much. Whoa, I haven't even gotten to our founder yet. I'm slow.

I've always thought that base game wasn't too different from what I'm used to playing but... it's been a long time since Sims 2 was released, I didn't even realize. I must have been 10 or 11 when I first bought it and holy crap on a cracker, I couldn't handle more than one sim at a time. Don't even get me started on when I got a baby for the first time. But here we are, back to basic...

Aww, yeah, founder time! Meet Noomi Stranger, the brave soul who was forced to embark into a datefree, always green, dog-less world. Hmm, not a lot to say about her... the picture feels kind of empty without a LTW or Turn Ons/Off.

I totally forgot that the Aspiration Meter looked like that!

And that the Skill level thingy looked like that! Okay, there might be some differences I hadn't thought of.

Of course, this is a pixel_trade Legacy so we shall be marrying in gorgeous sims like Fact February (charterzard).

They did get along...

Noomi: We're BFFs.

I was glad to see that the welcome wagon still showed up and thankfully it was filled with pixel_trade sims!

Noomi did not get along with Kewpie (bondchick_nett).

But she had no problem with Zarick (wisperis) and John Collins (the_caaah).

Despite their differences, Kewpie had no problem using Noomi's toilet... with no sense of privacy what so ever. It's okay though, she's got a newspaper.

Some pictures do not need captions.

Eventually the three simmies started leaving and it turned into a week of survivor where the last one standing would win.

Turned out the Kewpie won, though I am not sure why she stuck around as she and Noomi do not get along.

Noomi: John...

Noomi: Me...

All right, I get it!

I had totally forgotten that you can turn the newspaper into a paper plane. Turns out it is one of those adorable interactions that go unnoticed a lot.

As there are no LTW in the base game (apparently they came with University) we could take whatever job we wanted. But since Noomi rolled up a want to get a job in the Criminal career, it was an easy decision. So this is the obligatory "first day at the office" (more like first day robbing people) picture.

I noticed that whenever I held my mouse over sims it just showed their first name. I am pretty sure that I've seen the last name popping up when I have my EPs installed so this must be a base game thing.

The next day we decided to have a lawn party. I can just feel the awkwardness through the screen.

I did try my hardest to make Noomi's dream come true...

But it was sweet Zarick that happened to woo her in the end.

Really woo her.

Noomi: He left without saying goodbye...

Yeah, that sucks. When the party was over they just leave. Sort of depressing really.

I had totally forgotten about this selection screen! Oooh, nostalgia.

As you probably noticed, we headed off to a community lot... one of those that I stole from the three standard neighborhoods.

Right, so. This booth is pointless. You can't buy anything and still it has a cash register.

Noomi: Ben, stop being all hipster and saying you've been in the Sims since before it was popular. No one cares!

We bought some grocieries, because we can. Normally I am a sell-then-rebuy-fridge kind of gal.

When we got home Noomi continued to... not make friends.

Can you imagine how awkward it is? You meet someone and then you get invited to dance with them on their lawn where they obviously live.

Uhm...

Noomi: I think it's time for you to leave now, Jan.

Zarick of course stopped by when no one was home. Way to go.

Which leaves us with exactly... 0 bucks!

It was a good time to buy a money-tree.

Noomi: SEE. Money do grow on trees!

Stop looking so greedy!

She did not look as thrilled when she had to pay the bills.

It turns out it is ridiculously difficult talking to anyone in the middle of the day... And for some reason everyone has a roommate that have serious attitude problems.

Yeah, I'm amazing at this game.

Finally Zarick picked up the phone and we started Phase 1: Nabbing a hubby.

Next time we'll see more obligatory Legacy pictures, maybe a birthday if we're lucky and hopefully more of Zarick!

Until then, this is Alex over and out.
