So I went and saw Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince last night at 3:15 AM with my Mum and Scott.
One word: Epic!
Also, the line for seating was ridiculously long and the AC died in the middle of the movie. In Arizona heat. With over 1,000 people in one room. Yes, it was hot. Furthermore, I know we are technically "outside," but when there are very long, tall, narrow walls surrounding everyone, smoking is not cool. Gag.
First of all, I really liked this movie, but I am not one of those people who feels like the movie should be a completely different entity from the book. A lot of those people were thrilled with 3, but will probably hate this movie. Too bad.
Second, Alan Rickman is still pretty hot, especially in this film. O_O
Third, I think Michael Gambon really hit his stride with this film. I think he hit the right note of a man becoming weaker just when everyone is looking to him as a source of strength. I loved it.
Fourth, they really minimized the "Half Blood Prince" stuff. It was almost... beside the point.
Fifth, Ginny and Hermione's actresses are really quite cute, and so is Neville's actor. Full points for Griffindor.
Sixth, LUNA!!! Her glasses are adorable. Also, lion hat was for the win.
Seventh, the Weasley House!!! I almost cried!
Eighth, Dumbledore totally cockblocks Harry. LOL. (That girl was pretty hot too. She was out of Harry's league anyway. ^_~ )
Ninth, although they changed some stuff and added bits here and there, I thought the narrative was pretty tight and the acting was generally good. I didn't notice a lot of the seems, in a sense. The two and a half hours didn't feel that long, and I like that in a film.
Finally, the New Moon trailer appeared. People cheered, I groaned. No thanks.
