I'm starting this post at nite.

My mom and I had been having cocktail hour in the bar for about two hours before this photo was taken. This is the beginning of a nite that gave me a terrible, terrible hangover.
What you don't see in this photo is this cool woman in her 70s named Maria Teresa who was traveling on the ship alone. She sat down with my mom and me and told us about her life in Italy, where she was born, and how she married a doctor who took her to Africa in the '50s and how she and her children had to leave because a civil war broke out in the country they were in and that he stayed and caught Malaria and died. She raised her kids alone in Italy and later married an American and moved to New York with him. I dunno, we liked her because she was so spirited and charismatic. I had actually run into her a week before in Athens in our hotel when she said, "'Sucuze me! sucuze me! Pleeease hold the elevator! You have to ride with me, I'm scared of elevators!"

After dinner, Mom, Dad, Jessica, Yia Yia and I went to the disco. I wanted to go dance and stuff, but my grandmother was there and I dunno, it was weird. I felt like I was in middle school. They left and Jess and I ended up meeting this really cool group of kids who were on a youth tour. For the most part, they had only met each other days before, when the tour began in Mykonos. The kids were from South Africa, Australia, England, Ireland and the U.S. and they were so much fun. I can't remember the girl's name on the left, but to the right of me is Morgan, from the U.S., and Katie, an Aussie living in London.

This guy is a butcher from somewhere in the U.K. and her name is Mo. She was drunk ALL THE TIME and had a bottle of Bacardi in her purse.

He is some Greek guy from Australia I think. After the bar closed we stayed around drinking from bottles they had bought. Eventually we turned the music back on, but this workman came and turned it off saying, "No no no."

We drank Absinthe. That did it; that ruined me.

I can't remember this guy's name either, but obviously I thought he was faaaantastic. Also, look how sick my beard looks. My dad told me to "clean it up" and I came out looking like Prince.

Jess went to bed before me, but I got in at 4 AM. I missed Crete all together, and went back to bed after lunch. I barely made it off the ship for Santorini -- I was tore up.

As most of you probably know, Santorini's famous cliff was caused by an underwater volcano's eruption that resulted in an earthquake. This is where a lot of the Atlantis-myth comes from. This is the cliff-side of the island, the other side is flat. When went 8 years ago, we went up on donkeys. It's an experience, but it's smelly and slow and the donkeys seem very tired. Instead the four of us took the lift up to the top.

Mom and Dad. That's the volcano behind them.

Great view, huh?

This is going to be a Christmas card. Shaaananana.

And this is later in that evening. After dinner they wanted us to come out drinking, but I still felt terrible. These kids were so great. After the trip, those who could ended up going back to London with Katie and staying in her flat until their money ran out. That's an amazing adventure.

That's the end of the cruise. Most of the time was spent in the casino. I hate to gamble. My dad gave me money to play with and as usual I lost it all in 30 minutes at roulette. and roulette is all I know how to play! The point isn't to win, it's to have fun and make your money last, but I'm no good. My parents and sister are though, so we spent a lot of time in there, and figuring out on-board drama, eavesdropping and all the normal stuff we do as a family.
