To make this vaguely interesting, an opinion.
Kathy Reichs is fast becoming as utterly shit as Patricia Cornwell. In fact, I would go so far as to say that Tempe Brennan now irritates me more than Kay Scarpetta did, and I really didn't think that was possible.
Kathy, snappy one-line jokes can be very effective. They make you, the author, look very clever and witty and they are a good way of putting across an inconsistancy in a character's speech in a humourous way.
But not three times in one page.
Seriously.
Just don't.
