I saw Eragon today!! It comes out a day earlier in Australia than in the USA, which is unusual, but nice. Especially since we have to wait until the bloody 26th for Happy Feet, and it's being advertised to DEATH. Casino Royale only came out last week too! And don't even get me started on the fact that OotP was going to be here a MONTH after the USA!
LOL Ricky's been banging on about Eragon for like, a year, and it all culminated today. =D He seemed disappointed with how they'd changed things or left things out. Which is prettymuch inevitable. I haven't read the book, so I wouldn't know any better, but I know how he feels. Prisoner of Azkaban, anyone? But he'll come around and see it as a good movie independent of the book. I really like POA now, but I remember feeling really cheated when I came out of the cinema.
But OMG. I loved it. Murtagh is HOTT like WHOA. And no matter how I resist, that fact remains that I think Jeremy Irons is SOOO freaking sexy and no one else understands. *sniff* Well, none of my friends. They're all like "EWW, he's OLD!" and I'm like "His voice!! OMG his VOICE!!!"
Saphira was AWESOME. The dragon-Riding scenes were AWESOME. Like being on a rollercoaster. And Saphira looked really REAL - or as real as a dragon can look, y'know. =D And OMG BABY!Saphira - CUTEST THING EVER.
John Malkovich - I've never seen him be less convincing in a role as I did in this movie, honestly. Does Galbatorix just sit on his throne all day and wait for Durza to come back? Just...the whole way he talked and everything I just...didn't believe he was evil. Not that I though he was good, y'know, he just didn't strike me as evil. Durza struck me as evil. =D And it's a pity because I like John Malkovich.
So there's been a lot of Arya hate about, and honestly, I have no opinion of her. She really didn't affect me emotionally in any way. I am strongly predicting that I will be a Slasher in the Eragon fandom. =D
LOL Chris Egan plays Eragon's cousin/brother! HEE. He used to be on Home & Away! I watched him when I was like 12 - and the funny thing is when his character, Nick, left Summer Bay it was to become a movie actor.
AND AND AND
It's RAINING!
Which is just BRILLIANT, because a), we're in a major drought, and b) the bushfires are crazy - From The Age website:
The temperature in fire-affected areas is already nudging 30 degrees, with strong north-westerly winds fanning the flames.
More than 420,000 hectares have been burnt out as 11 bushfires continue to rage out of control.
...
Two of the biggest fires merged into one on Tuesday night, creating a mega-fire that now stretches at least 120km in length from Whitfield to Dargo.
After joining, the north-east Alpine fires and Darling-Cynthia and Blanket Wood, Mount Hump, Scrubby Creek fires have blacked out 372,000 hectares.
