So, today was 'Muck-up' day for the Year 12's. Basically it's their last day of High school classes ever (they still have revision classes and exams, but no new info, y'know?) so they usually act up. Water guns, water bombs, stink bombs, hone on seats & doorknobs, writing 'VCE 06'(whatever graduating year) everywhere, fish oil in the toilets, egging people, and a bit of graffiti. Basically, for everyone else, it's the most dangerous day of the school year. If you can avoid the toilet, do. Look before you sit down anywhere. Inspect everything you touch.
But HOLY crap, this year they went too far.
The graffitti was just...there was so much all over the classrooms, and not just VCE 06, but all sorts of rude words. Silly string in the toilets and glad wrap under the toilet seats (typical). Toilet paper everywhere, through all the trees. Windows broken. They egged the carpet of their own VCE centre. That was NEW this year, and they repay the school for better facilities by BREAKING the Windows and Egging the room?! People got arrested last night for vandalism!
Usually there'd be surprise water attacks and that sort of thing during the day (Even though we're on level 2 water restrictions now - Let's all go on holiday near the water catchments because IT NEVER RAINS THERE, DOES IT NEWS PEOPLE?) and a few people would be egged.
But they'd gone too far, and EVERTHING was cancelled. Not just Muck up Day (they were all sent home), but Carnival Day (they get all these rides and have a carnival on the Oval) and Slave For A Day (Where the auction themselves off as slaves for teachers to buy - it's a fundraiser for something). Basically all the thing that the've been looking forward to for the last 5 years. All because some stupid idiots went too far.
Even I'm annoyed at the cancellation of Slave for a Day, because a lot of the teachers make the students they'be bought do a song & dance or something at lunchtime, which everyone gets to watch. Last years was great, Tony Frantz, Sergo & some other guys sang this hilarious song to the tune of Waltzing Matilda - "Matt loves Miss Mounsey, Matt loves Miss Mounsey, *something can't remember*, Mr Arthur thinks he's black!" It was sooooo hilarious because it was all true. I'd been watching Matt & Miss Mounsey closely before this song (this was still in the "Are they going out?" phase) and they couldn't stop looking at each other! And as soon as they sang that song, the both looked SO embarrassed, it was truly hilarious.
But yeah.
That's my rant.
I hope our year level learns from this, if we gets our stuff cancelled I will be SO pissed off I can't even tell you.
grr,
