HELLO!
I sometimes forget that maybe you guys are interested to know what's going on. So here is a snapshot.
Real Life
+ I AM FINISHED EXAAAAMS! :D
+ New Zealand are doing SO MUCH BETTER THAN I EXPECTED they would in the World Cup! GO BOYS!
+ Last night we had pie for dinner, pie for dessert, and then we all went on a family trip to Officeworks (they sell school/office supplies - everything from stationery to furniture to computers to bulk bags of mentos) at about 8pm. We were the only ones in the store, too. Me and Liam sung "Eye of the Tiger" in the backseat of the car no the way there. Lachie was sitting in the middle and perhaps he was trying to say something but WE DROWNED HIM OUT WITH OUR AWESOMENESS.
+ Huh I was just now sent an email trying to entice me to join the Army. Problem 1: I am not a citizen of this country. Problem 2: I'D BE TERRIBLE IN THE ARMY. I'D HATE IT.
+ I am going to see the
Titanic exhibition at the museum with Rachel, Jessie and some other friends! It's not till the 3rd but you have to book in advance cos it's popular. :D :D I've been fascinated by the Titanic since I was a little kid, even though weirdly I did not see the movie Titanic till I was about 15.
+ Then the week after that I am having a Doctor Who Marathon at my house on Saturday and some of us are sleeping over for a Merlin Slash Marathon on the Sunday. I didn't realise it at the time but ACTUALLY that Sunday is the 1 year anniversary of the Melbourne Merlinaustralia meetup! And then the Monday is the
FRANCE HOUSE ANNIVERSARY. Epic weekend will be epic. :D
+ Put some more pictures up in my room. Family ones, we had them taken when my brother graduated. So It's me, Dylan, Mum and Dad. We obviously don't have them up in this house because we're a new family now, but Anne and dad were rearranging what seemed like every framed thing in the house and they asked if I wanted them, so yeah. I don't have any pictures of the boys or Anne in my room cos it's like I mean, I do live with them and they are great and I like this new family too but my room is sort of the only place I can put up my old family, so I like to do that. I have now noticed that if we discount art or other creative representations and only count actual photos, the most represented guy on my walls is actually my older brother Dylan. Even when I count Arthur and Bradley as the same person.
BEWARE SPOILERS FOR DOCTOR WHO
Fandom-y
+
GLEE: I never really said what I thought of the Glee finale but I really liked it! But then, I like most things. I DO think that it would have benefited from being longer than it was, just based on how much STUFF went on in such a short time, but Glee is a silly show anyway so I'm not really looking for snappy sophisticated writing and Oscar-worthy acting. :P Also, I TOTALLY love this version of Total Eclipse of the Heart ♥
+
DOCTOR WHO: I actually watch this every week and then never talk about it in my journal for some reason. I pretty much read other people's entries about it and then they basically say everything I think so then I never end up making an entry on it. But! To summarise: Eleven, I love you. loooove you. Amy? Loooove you. Rory? loooove you WHY DID YOU HAVE TO DIE but then you came back as a hot Roman so that's all cool BUT THEN YOU SHOT AMY WHAT and OMG next week's episode, I need it RIGHT THE HELL NOW. Also loved The Lodger cos everyone was all kind of cute in that ep. Also I like seeing people from The History Boys in other things. :P And I bought a poster of Ten and a tin shaped like the TARDIS, and a pack of cards with S3 pictures on them. This means I now have DW, HP, and LOTR playing cards, as well as Movie!HP!UNO, and the only ones I ever play with is Uno lol. Yeahhhh way to collect something you never use there, Kim.
+
JAMES MCAVOY HAS A WEE BABY BOY! ♥
+
NARNIA: OMG TRAILER OMG WHEN IS IT CHRISTMAS OMG.
+
MERLIN: All these setpics are SO ADORABLE, I want S3 nowwwwww! Also, I read the Bradley/Colin fic
Talking Dirty by
mrs_leary and GUH. VERY PLEASING MENTAL IMAGES. ALSO, COLIN'S ACCENT ENHANCES DIRTY TALK. BRADLEY AGREES.
Also, Bradders? I love you. I want a Merlin blooper reel, BBC!

SUPERNATURAL: Okay so. This is kind of new. Basically, I never really got into the show before. So until yesterday I'd never even seen a full episode. For the longest time I just didn't find either of them especially attractive, I didn't find the premise interesting enough to make me watch, and it was so AMERICAN compared to prettymuch everything else I was into at the time. It's probably only in the last 18 months or so that I even remembered which one was Sam and which one was Dean. I guess those of you who like the show haven't experienced SPN fandom while completely outside it, but yeah. It didn't make me MORE inclined to want to watch the show, shall we say.
But. Basically? I am a podfic whore. I have 140 podfics in my iTunes and I know that's not even a fraction of what's out there but it's a lot when you think that I have spent 5.8 days of my life listening to podfic at a bare minimum which doesn't even account for multiple listens. My favourite readers are FayJay and Pennyplainknits. So much so that once I'd exhausted the fics they'd read in fandoms I'm in, I started downloading J2 podfics. I figured they would be easier to get into cos I wouldn't need much prior knowledge of plot points. Anyway I'd already listened to a few and loved them (1.3 days' worth! Apparently I don't do these things half-arsed) and then in the past few days I listened to
Someone You Might Have Been. It was AMAZING. I got Patricia to read it too lol cos I couldn't keep it's awesomeness to myself. IT just. OMG. I know I keep using this phrase but it's true - I SOBBED LIKE A BITCH. Happy tears and sad tears and surprised tears and just OMG it was an emotional rollercoaster and it was amazing and I loved it. Also - that podfic is 11 hours long, so I figured "Okay surely I am ready for the show now. Even if I don't know Dean or Sam that well I love Jensen and Jared enough to coast through on that. I think I'll like the show now."
Five years of SPN-through-osmosis and I am finally sitting down to watch an episode, lol.
But yes, so I rented S1 yesterday and watched the first 6 episodes and YAY I DO LIKE IT. I like it quite a lot. I don't know if it's gonna be like a huge I LOVE YOUUU obsession thing like Merlin. At this stage I don't think so but hey, I've been wrong before. The things that I have REALLY liked, really got obsessed with? Usually take a little while to warm up to. Narnia is the most notable exception - I'd never read the books and I saw the LWW trailer by accident and instantly knew this was going to be a MASSIVE part of my life for the forseeable future. Even LOTR, where I was obsessed enough with the movies to memorise the Elvish (could not read the books though God I tried. I just do not like his writing style, as much as it pains me not to have read them) - I actually didn't like Fellowship overmuch and it was only after TT that I was like "WAIT. WAIT THAT WAS AMAZING." Even HP took me a while to warm up to. So I'll see where this goes. I fell in love with Arthur in 1x02 Valiant. I don't know if I've fallen in love with the Winchesters yet, but I think I'm well on the way? Maybe you can only tell in retrospect. Because I know the exact moments I fell for Merlin and Arthur respectively, but I can't remember if I realised at the time. :P
SO YES. ENJOYING THE SHOW. I think at one point during Wendigo I actually got such a fright I physically flailed for a moment.
OK SO THAT WAS AN ESSAY! SORRY. I should probably update more often about less stuff. But sometimes I just forget because I'm on chat and then I've told my news and I forget that my flist doesn't know what's going on.
