They sit in Seth's dimly lit dressing room, costumes strewn across the floor and couch. Amy's hair is impeccable as she's done up for Weekend Update but she still nervously runs her fingers through it as if fixing something that isn't broken. Seth's back is pressed against his chair which is pressed against the wall, front legs up in the air as he uses the toe of his shoe to push himself back and forth in a rocking motion.
After a minute, he sighs dramatically, closing his eyes and pinching the bridge of his nose, "I am so fucked, aren't I?" He says, slouching his shoulders and speaking more to himself than to Amy across from him.
"Yeah, Seth." She says, scratching at her panty-hosed kneecap, "You really are."

The first time, Will had sat on Seth's bed in Seth's apartment while Seth stood over him and slowly slid the buttons of his shirt through the button holes, kissing every piece of skin exposed to him.
The first time Will had asked over and over if he was sure, if he was ready and Seth hadn't hesitated at all, only kissing him hard to answer 'yes.'
The first time Will had laid him down on the white, fluffy comforter, whispering words of endearment and promises of love and forever as he'd moved his hand higher on Seth's leg and eventually grasped the waistband of his boxers.
The first time, Seth had cried a little even though Will had tried to go so slowly and gently for him and they'd clutched at each other with sweaty hands and rasped out each others names and it had been Seth's first time as well as theirs.
The first time, Seth lay curled in Will's arms afterwards with Will stroking his hair and making soothing noises against his skin calling him words like 'amazing' and 'beautiful' and whispering that he would never love anyone else the same way.

It is Thursday afternoon when he hears Horatio on his cell phone with Jimmy.
"Yeah, man. Fucking Jude Law too." Pause. "I know, it sucks right? But I think this is it for the lovebirds. I mean, Will's fucking pissed, you know?"
Seth thinks Jimmy does know. He called it after all.

"What is your problem with me and Will, Jimmy? Honestly? What is it?"
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"The looks for starters. I mean, seriously, if they could kill..."
"I just don't think it's a good idea, that's all, man."
"What? Me and Will?"
"Anyone and anyone. Mixing work and pleasure; that whole thing."
"Will and I are different."
"Yea, that's what Tina said."
"It's not the same."
"Why? Because you and Forte are so in love? You both have a lot of growing up to do, man. I can't just stick around and watch that happen."
"What? Why not?"
"Because, Seth, I already know how it ends."

Chris Parnell is on set making Fred Armison laugh so hard he chokes on his bagel and twists his glasses in amusement. Rachel Dratch is in makeup perfecting her 'Debbie Downer' scowl. Kenan Thompson is sitting off to the side by himself wondering what Kel is doing right now.
Seth Meyers turns the knob to Will Forte's dressing room and lets himself in. For a long time, no one breathes.
"I'm sorry," he says and he knows it's lame but he doesn't think anything short of standing outside Will's apartment with a boombox blasting Peter Gabriel is going to be appropriate now.
Will doesn't say a word for the longest time and Seth's nerves are so on edge they're practically jumping through his skin, "If you didn't want to be with me," he starts, "you could have just said so."
Seth's heart feels like he's ran over it with a truck, "That's not...That wasn't why."
"No," Will says, grinding his teeth, "I gave you everything. Everything, Seth. You need to get out there? Be with other people? Fine. But leave me out of it, please." His eyes shine with unfallen tears, "Just...go away. Leave me alone."
Seth sighs in defeat and heads for the door but as his face meets the wooden frame, he stops and turns around, "This isn't just my fault, Will. You can't treat me like some kind of prized possesion and expect me to be able to handle that. I can't live up to your fucking pedestal."
Will silently watches patterns on the carpet and finally, Seth scoffs and whirls his way out the door. Probably, Will guesses, for good.

"Don't say I told you so."
"I wasn't going to. I was going to say 'I'm sorry I was right.'"
"Oh."
"Listen, man, do you want to come over? Talk about it?"
"I don't...I don't want to talk about it."
"Okay, so how about I order a pizza, pop open a case of Red Bull, and invite Tina and her gay porn collection?"
"I think Tina hates me right now actually."
"Tina hates everyone, Seth, she'll get over it."
"Yeah."
"I guess we'll have to settle for my gay porn collection then."
"I'll be there in 10. And Jimmy?"
"Yeah?"
"Thanks."
