I guess he's at uni, or at least finished high school. He looks older than me. Is that bad? Going for coffee with an older boy? Will I have to pretend I'm older?

Nope, don't lie to him, because that'll all come back to haunt you in the end. It's only bad if you feel uncomfortable with it, so, y'know, give it a go and see what your instincts think :D

I think you're already pretty mature :) I'd still go with the be-yourself thing, it already sounds like you have the same interests, if he's doing the same course as you and liked your thing, so don't worry too much about it. I can come over and pretend to be him and role play first date scenarios if you like :D
