Dear Students Who Are Doing Author Studies:
Thank you for choosing me! I'm so glad my books speak to you! This is the reason I write!
Having said that, honestly, the books are the most interesting thing about me. In real life, I'm probably a lot like your mom. Unless she's someone super-interesting, like a paleontologist, Tina Fey, or the lady on Bones (the character, not the actress. Well, probably the actress too). In which case, I'm less interesting than your mom. My high school-aged daughter can vouch for that.
This is why, I'm sad to say, the information on my website and Wikipedia (which I check periodically for accuracy) is pretty much IT. I grew up, went to college, got married, had kids, had a career as a lawyer, then became a writer. In my spare time, I read, go to the gym, ride a bicycle, and watch television. I'm particularly fond of The Good Wife and The Mindy Project. My favorite book is Jane Eyre. My favorite recent book by an author who isn't dead is Where'd You Go, Bernadette? by Maria Semple. If I were to write an adult book, that would be the one I'd like to write, but I probably wouldn't write it as well.
Anyway, so my website is a good place to get information about me. If you want information about my inspiration to write modern fairy tale retellings,
here's a link to a recent interview with me. You can find other interviews with me by googling "Alex Flinn" and interview.
Good luck with your author study!
