Harry Potter crushes

Jun 20, 2013 21:06

...you're all waiting to read what, exactly, Harry Potter crushes, aren't you? Well, I'm sorry to disappoint. This post is not about Harry defeating evil and whatnot, but rather about characters in the Harry Potter books that I have a crush on.

Oooooooo!!

Okay, this all started when talking about The Princess Bride. Someone mentioned Westley being their first crush and I was all, "Wait, what? You didn't love Inigo Montoya?!" Thus began a long, unintelligible conversation on fictional crushes.

Note: this is all shipping aside, as if I were a Hogwarts student and interacted with the characters on a regular basis. (omg :D :D :D)
Second Note: Pottermore sorted me into Gryffindor but I like to think I'm a Hufflepuff.

Neville Longbottom
YES. Shy and clumsy and scared of his grandmother yet brave enough to stand up to his friends and take on Crabbe and Goyle all by himself.

Saved all those Droobles wrappers because they were from his mum.

Don't even get me started on what comes later. I-I can't. ;_;

LIKES PLANTS. Truth be told, I would probably hang out in the greenhouses at Hogwarts and if Neville happened to be there, awesome. I would not talk to him, per say, but I would probably, maybe just a little bit, get moony-eyed over him and most likely end up tangled in the venomous tentacula with dragon dung in my hair. Because that's how I roll.

Eighth year fic has pushed my love for Neville to new heights. ♥

Neville is all kinds of awesome and I love him to bits.

Charlie Weasley
Loves him mum and is good to his siblings.

Plays Quidditch.

Outdoorsy and a ginger.

DRAGONS.

Draco Malfoy
Hahaha NOT. As much as I love Draco and curse his lack of redemption (cowering in the Great Hall with his parents does not count, lady) I don't think I'd like Draco. He's like that kid that cried when he didn't get his way and when crying no longer worked, threw a tantrum. After tantrums comes scheming and lying. Then getting mixed up with a bad sort and in over your head.

Draco is the kid I got fed up with and threw in the pond. He's the kid I picked fights with because SHUT UP A MINUTE, WOULD YOU?

Though, if I were in Slytherin, I'd probably try to befriend him because no matter how intimidating, he's a scared little boy that turns his insecurities into insults. He needed one strong friend to stand up to him and tell him to stop being such a twat. Head canon said that was Blaise. ... until it wasn't.

Plus he has pretty hair.

Harry Potter
Naw, not really. Harry might be fun to hang with once in awhile, but if I were in Hogwarts, there is no way I'd fit in with him, Ron and Hermione. They're kind of...exclusive? I'm more the type to befriend everyone and they stick to themselves. (With reason, I know. But still.)

MWPP
As much as I love reading/writing/imagining Sirius, I'd probably have a crush on Remus. Until, you know, he let his friends walk all over him.

Hermione
Last but definitely not least. Hermione is brilliant. Scary, but brilliant. Sometimes Hermione annoys the snot out of me and sometimes I wonder if, like some people argue, certain things attributed to her weren't just a plot device, but I do love her.

Hermione is smart, fair, fiercely loyal and independent. She kicks ass and looks out for her friends. I'll probably always be a little bit in love with her.

and Rory
Because Rory Williams is an honorary Weasley. He's the accountant nurse cousin they never talked about. because he disappeared

Also also also HUGO. I know we don't know much abut him, but if we're talking epilogue-verse, my head canon has Hugo being the coolest kid ever. He takes a while to warm up to you, but when he does it's like fucking sunshine. He's fun and funny. Loyal and fair. Spends his free time tinkering with Grandpa Weasley and experimenting with Uncle George. Tells the best jokes.

Agree? Disagree? Secretly in love with Snivellus? Go on, I won't judge.

harry potter, what
