there's something very satisfying about completing a 12 hour shift and feeling like you've accomplished everything you set out to do. for once i don't think i left any loose ends or forgot anything, and i feel like i had enough time to spend with my patients that wasn't strictly task-oriented.

there are still days when this job feels totally beyond me, but more and more often i feel like things are coming together.
