headache
so, ive had a few eventful days. early sunday morning, i woke up to gunfire in the alley behind my apt. the police told me later that morning (as i was removing my car from within the police line) that no one was killed, but that one person was hurt. i don't know how badly as i'm unable to find out anything about it in the news.
i did find out, however, that about two weeks ago a cab driver was shot to death about five blocks from where i live. i don't know how i missed this. i like npr and all, but their local crime coverage? not so helpful. i'll have to start scanning the sun every day or two, i think.
on friday night, i adopted a cat. she seems pretty cool so far, except that she destroyed my living room rug already. other than that, we're getting along well. she actually slept with me last night. cute.
i had all these things i wanted to do today, but i couldn't bring myself to go to sleep last night. i think this whole thing has got me a little stressed out. i'm trying to find out more details about the case, but baltimore doesn't seem to get too concerned over nonfatal attacks. i'll post more later if i get more info, but i'm pretty sure that what happened in my alley two nights ago qualifies as a hate crime. not good.
