Thoughts after a wonderful bus adventure yesterday:
1) There is a certain wonderful joy to waking up early on a day you don't have to.
2) Eastern Passage is a beautiful little place. It's like a slice of Lunenburg within reach of the Metro Transit bus system. It'd be a nice place to live, I think.
4) Dare Chocolate fudge cookies are quite delicious.
5) The new Sackville terminal is a very clean place, especially for a bus terminal.
6) The "Chicken Burger" (restaurant) is a mixed bag. Their Chicken Burger (sandwich) is pretty crappy. They are small and expensive, the bun is soggy, and Shannon's fell apart. The fries were ok, but nothing to phone home about. The ambiance was impressive though, with a very 50s feel (jukebox, neon signs, etc). Also, it has those spinny chairs that I used to love when I was a kid (And still do). It's worth a trip back.
7) Dal is blessedly quiet on Saturday afternoon.
8) The 52 is a very long bus.
9) An insane number of people are willing to line up outside of the Bayers Lake Theatre on a freezing Saturday afternoon, even on a week lacking any decent films. Shannon and I are also apparently among those weirdos.
10) Date Movie is as terrible as it sounds. Austin Powers somehow made sex and poop jokes funny, but Mike Myers is a brilliant man, and the creators of Date Movie are not.
13) I have a girlfriend willing to get up at ungodly hours and last for superhuman amounts of time on the bus. I am the luckiest guy around.
12) Spending a weekend with Shannon is a wonderful experience. I love her so much, and the feelings only grow every day.
This was a fantastic weekend, and a great start to Spring Break. I can only hope things go so well the rest of the week.
