So this is what I think will be my college essay. I'm not positive (For Stall may tear it apart). Your feedback would be nice and appreciated, so give it a read.
Before I began writing this, I was told that I needed to pick a story from my life that would explain what kind of person I am. Should I use explain how my father’s early death made me a stronger person or how a television show changed my view of the world? Should I discuss my dedication to my friends or my odd relationship with my twin sister? All of these stories explain some aspect of me. I’m the main character in every tale, but each one paints a completely different picture.
There’s a part of me that doesn’t remember her father’s funeral because she was too busy crying throughout the entire thing. That same girl defended a disliked teacher to disgruntled students without ever telling her so. I’m also the friend that tells the honest truth without having to be asked. My hugs run aplenty for those in mourning. My gift for sarcasm can make any dark situation not seem so bad.
In the end, I’m just me. I’m a quirky, nerdy, funny, honest, and strong woman with many passions. No single story could ever attempt to cover all of that. The person I am and the person I’m becoming are too multi-faceted for that. What makes me unique is how the different situations life has presented have changed the way I look at the world and myself.
