It depends on where your readers are. The ones who are on both sites might prefer to read you (and comment?) on DW. For those on LJ but not DW, DW can crosspost to LJ, although that sometimes fails silently. If you post to both sites, you may get comments on both sites, and your readers might not see comments on the other site.
DW gives you separate lists for the accounts you want to read and the accounts you allow to read your own non-public posts. No ads. No drama from groups/advertisers wanting to suppress others' opinions/lifestyles.
DW can copy all your postings (and their comments) from LJ.
