there's quite a party going on in my abdomen

I have stomach flu.

Ugh.

I think I caught it at Friday's grad orientation. I should have washed my hands more often while handling all that equipment. I hope I didn't infect anyone.

Sunday morning I felt a bit lightheaded, and queasy -- too sick to my stomach to eat. Usually when that kind of so-hungry-I-don't-want-to-eat thing hits, I force myself to have some fruit or whatnot, and it goes away as soon as I eat. But this didn't. By Sunday night I was getting up every hour or two to use the toilet. (I never knew it could be *that* color.) I thought I was getting better Monday, but I woke up this morning at 5am still crampy and diarrhea'd and headachy. I made David get me some medication and Pedialyte, and that seems to have helped. I slept about six hours after taking the diarrhea meds, and things have calmed down -- mostly. There's a party going on in my stomach, but it's staying in my stomach and not moving down to my intestines.

Well.

School starts on Thursday. I'm glad I got this out of the way before things start up. Thursday all I have is Japanese, and then a little chamber audition on Friday, and the weekend is free. I need to practice at some point, and work on my diss proposal and Fulbright-Hays fellowship, but not when I've got whatever nasty bug this is.

(The most upsetting thing on Sunday was that I felt like I had a hangover, but I hadn't had the fun of drinking to make up for it!)

edited to add: My stomach is making so much noise the cats are looking startled. o.O
