Where I rage about: Apple and LJ

Nov 10, 2011 22:13

I don’t get really angry very often. Not at all. This is probably the first time I am ANGRY on LJ pages.

I HATE APPLE: Apple!!!!!!!!!!! I never liked the brand in the first place, for principal reasons, but now I have a reason to HATE IT PERSONALLY. I will dedicate my life to campaigning against this evil bunch. Why? The story goes like this ( Read more... )

apple, apple is rubbish, lj

I WISH I WAS WARNED. I think I am going to write to their customer service and ask for "Fragile" warnings to be attached to their stuff. I Googled before going and the breakability seems to be a common problem, but me? I HAD NO IDEA! I thought - something that cost 250f for a little device like that? should be fine! My new Dell (the one-piece one), for example, fell off the desk onto the concrete floor (this WAS my fault because I was fiddling with it and was half-asleep) and there is is literally NO SCRATCH. And the thing weights much more than the ipod does.

Anyways- I FUME.

I got the cheapest Android phone (this is me), called San Francisco which is the Orange own brand. Half of our guys have them, the half that is too stingy for HTC. HTC comes as recommended model by our gurus.

Which phone do you have? Is it Android? Because if you hate the Android Operational system, you might go for a different OS like Nokia's Symbian..

Ovi App Market (Nokia market) is not as big as Android or iPod, but Nokia is in contract with Windows so everyone is saying Nokia is going to grow? My husband is always fond of Nokias, so he has got a new Nokia 700 which is really slim and lovely..

I did bring this up on more than one occasion, but maybe that was before we met? *ponders* IDK. When I was making up my mind about my sister's gift, I talked about getting a hard cover on my journal for sure. When I have to fork out that much money, I always research a ton, watch reviews etc. That's because I'm paranoid but when I buy something, I'm usually 100 % satisfied with my purchase (I'm talking about electronics and tech gadgets. For some reason I don't research other products quite as much. I'm doing the same with the ereader I'm half considering buying) TLDR: I'm sorry you didn't know that some Apple users weren't satisfied adn that ipods do break.

It's an LG, but, as I said, it's a gift that the kid I used to tutor made her mom buy for me (her mom = my cousin. I never got a cent for all my lessons so the phone was sort of the payment for my time? IDK, something like that) and she chose it cos it had a ton of fun stuff for kids, which I don't use, and all the features I might use (ie internet. Or the apps) are wonky or don't even work. lakdjfaljd I used to have a Nokia, which, again was a gift, but at least that was an awesome phone, had great reception and it was customizable (it ran on Symbian and Java was fully supported), which the LG doesn't have. I've used the LG for a while not to disappoint the kid, but enough is enough. Besides, I'm not taking advantage of my phone plan with Internet included because of the LG's wonkiness. Also? My car HATES the new phone so I can't even use it when I drive (my car has this awesome feature). It's amazing how a phone can complicate your life! LOL

The problem of Nokia phones is that they don't support Asian languages. Or rather, they do, but you've got to buy them in Asia. Installing an additional language pack is next to impossible and I DO read/write stuff in Korean so my next phone? Can't be a Nokia, much as it pains me to admit that. But yeah, I think Nokia will grow and they are reliable and relatively cheap. It's the most reliable phone I've ever had.

I usually also do the same. In ipod touch case, I think my heart "wasn't in it". As I posed before, I don't like Apple for principal reasons, so forking out 230f on an Apple product felt like betraying my own principles, so I just .. you know.. tried to think as less about this as possible? ;D

I haven't heard anything good about LGs, to be fair. The phones that seem to get the most positive feedback from my friends and colleagues are HTC Desire, or the very cheap Orange own phones called San Francisco (here: http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/4-/17454615/Orange-San-Francisco-Android-Pre-Pay-Pay-As-You-Go-Mobile-Phone-Inc-Free-10-Airtime-White/Product.html)

My San Francisco - to be honest, I am not that fussy because most of the time I am near a computer, so I wanted to get something VERY CHEAP. But it all seems to work very well - one of our guys upgraded the Android version for me, and I love the apps. I love checking my emails during the meetings, naps and shopping trips. Like, I open my eyes on the morining and I check my work calendar and emails? Priceless! I am not even using much of my Internet bundle - Wi-fi seems to be everywhere!

I mean your LG has Android system? Or not?
