Russian Songs Love: Nautilus Pompilius: Wings

Oct 06, 2009 18:28

I love this song so much - I never get tired of it. I have completely forgotten that it was a rare song by Nautilus that had a very good video clip. Youtube is great - I found something I forgot long time ago and it is like the whole late 80s - beginning of 90s are flooding back. So much happened, my generation has been living through the "May You Live In Interesting Times" curse for quite a while already.

Nautilus Pompilius: Wings

You are taking off your evening dress
Standing with your face to the wall
And I notice fresh scars
On your velvety smooth back
I would like to cry from the pain
Or lose myself in a dream
Where are your wings
Which I used to like so much?

Where are your wings
Which I used to like so much?
Where are your wings
Which I used to like so much?

Once we had time
Now we are busy
To prove the strong climb over the bones of the weak
To prove that soot is white
We all have lost something
In this senseless war
By the way where are your wings
Which I used to like so much?

Where are your wings
Which I used to like so much?
Where are your wings
Which I used to like so much?

I don't ask how much money you have
I don't ask how many husbands
I see that you are afraid of open windows
And upper floors
And if tomorrow a fire starts
And the whole building is in flames
We will perish without those wings
Which I used to like so much.

Where are your wings
Which I used to like so much?
Where are your wings
Which I used to like so much?
