I don't know if you have read it, but I posted this interview from Salon.com with Ed Burns in July. I think it is a pretty good one.

Thank you so much for the link - this is an excellent interview. Some strong words there "From my point of view, we should try those people responsible for putting us to war. Put them in a courtroom, because what they did was a crime.". The show is very cleverly done, it avoids making any judgments but at the same time leads you to some questions..

In my gut I feel the same way as Burns, at least in regards to some members of the Bush Administration. But it is terribly complicated. One of the reasons that I haven't been posting much is that I don't want to offend or bore people. I haven't felt like posting about my life or fandom related things; I have been a little obsessed with the news and politics lately. I will say one thing, though, after last week, I am actually scared of John McCain. I lost respect for him quite a while ago, but now I fear what will happen if he becomes president of the US.

Exactly, which is why I appreciate it so much.

I usually don't venture too far into politics. I could not miss the unfolding story with Russian/Georgian conflict and the coverage of it in the West, though. I must say I am angry with everyone - with Russian government, with crazy Georgian president, with the Western double-standard (in the least!) media and governments. EVERYONE.

What happened this week? I think I am so absorbed in the Russian/Georgian conflict that I missed any news on McCain. But yep, he does not seem to be a good future president.

Oh, it is his reaction to the Russian/Georgian conflict that scares me. I apologize for all of these links, don't feel like you have to look at them. I'm just putting them up as otherwise I would get incredibly long-winded. Some are from politically liberal blogs, if you do look at them, I wouldn't read the reply comments. There are a lot of idiots out there!

First, last Sunday he spoke of kicking Russia out of the G8. On Wednesday he said "In The 21st Century Nations Don't Invade Other Nations". Also, on Wednesday this story was reported in the Washington Post- While Aide Advised McCain, His Firm Lobbied for Georgia, and I think this story published today is interesting - McCain's Focus on Georgia Raises Question of Propriety.

I don't think that Obama has much of a foreign policy team yet but at the very least he stresses diplomacy a bit more.
