Hong Gil Dong: The Black Prince. Hwang Jin Yi question.

I am on the episode 8 of Korean 24-episode drama "Hong Gil Dong". It is getting better with each episode. The story itself is so far the best part. It shows that this is an adaptation of an acclaimed novel. The story keeps you guessing and the ending is difficult to predict at this point

Don't have a clue - not any of the ones I watched. Must be from a recent one. I have a theory - the blackness/deep purpleness of someone's clothes is directly related to their "evilness" factor. CH seems to have much brighter clothes here than in the episodes I have seen. :D

Seen it. Love it. It's very, very tragic...not in terms of people dying(though there is some of that) but because it's about a woman trapped in a strict social structure that pretends to offer freedom but doesn't, and her constant struggle between the love for her art, and the love she feels as a woman. it's amazingly beautiful and has an amazing soundtrack, and great acting.

He looks very different(not as thin and much older) but I think that's the guy who played her first love. His character there is a teenager, and not a strong one, so he looks a lot different.

Yes, that is him! I guess going any earlier than "Hwang Jin Yi" will not make sense.

btw, have hankies, and if you think you can't take the angst anymore almost mid-way through(it's pure trauma and angst, not melodrama) then strengthen yourself with the knowledge that there's a really hot bodyguard literally just around the corner.

Ahhh so beautiful!!! He was good in Hwang Jin Yi but he looked much younger. Overall, it's a gorgeous and tragic drama. :)

Awww! I feel your pain! Every time he's on the screen i'm squeeing and getting too attached. :P Let's stick with will turn evil. I don't know if i could handle him dying. *prepares tissues*

I rather he dies heroically. I don't want to see him to turn into a version of Yul (who was nice at first but ended up being too passive-aggressive) or into some evil king. GRRRRRR!
