Rahner, “Nature and Grace”

Let us think, for instance, of the distinction (correct in a certain sense) between a natural and a supernatural ‘love of God above all things’. How are these two acts to be distinguished as acts of love, that is, spiritually, if the supernaturalness of supernatural love only consists of its entitative ‘elevation’? Is it totally misguided, to see modern naturalism as having some connexion with this theory? Is it quite wrong to suggest that the modern lack of interest in the supernatural can only have developed on the basis of such a view of grace, which must be to some extent nominalist?
