Happy New Year 2013! And what was done in 2012....

So, the year has changed
The year 2012 was one of the most terrible in my whole life, especially the first half. And I don´t really know why. I dropped out from school, I had huge fights with my boyfriend, I didn´t have a job, I was a little bit depressed, which made me hate myself and my boyfriend, which made us fight more, I didn´t have the energy to do anything. The winter was a pretty rough time, but luckily summer came and things got a little bit better. I started seeing my friends again, I started moving more, started going to the gym, I started Zumba. And things with my boyfriend got also little calmer and happier. We started spending time together, laugh more together, learned to like each other again. The fall was good too, I watched what I ate and jogged regularly, went to Zumba and started to do Pilates too.
But also I have noticed that my mood and my football teams success kind of correlates. Like the beginning of the years was disastrous to FC Barcelona. There was no David Villa, which of course was a huge loss, but we played pretty well, fought for the league and CL, but then we hit the brick wall of Chelsea. I am not saying we could have done it with Guaje, but if he had played we would have more chances. More room for Messi. But no, we lost, it still lost to think that we lost to CHELSEA. I don´t like Chelsea, I hate John Terry and Frank Lambart and their whole money can buy you happiness mentality. Yes, I am still bitter.
After the losses to Chelsea, came the real blow, Pep left. I was surprised, but maybe I shouldn´t have because he had seemed really tired the whole season, our tactics didn´t bite as those used to do. It was time for a change, Pep was tired, but of course we all fans were terrified. What next? Will there be some new coach who comes to enjoy the hard work Pep had done and take the glory for it? I can say I was scared, until they confirmed that it would be Tito. Our Tito, who has stood there side by side with Pep from the beginning. Tito who was as essential part of the team as Pep had been. Tito who had fought for his life against cancer and overcome it. We knew Tito and we trusted Tito, but there we still some doubts if he had the strength and character to lead this team.
But as it turned out, he has been perfect for us. He has given us new power, new energy and a new will to win. I have always liked Tito, he has been the more calm, more ordinary part of the coaching duo when Pep was the manager and now he is our calm and collected manager himself. If there has been doubts, our streak of victory has drowned them. Now we just wish Tito a speedy recovery, we are hoping you will be soon back on the bench. Anims Tito!
I also loved the European championship tournament. I am from Finland, but because we suck at football, I cheered for Spain, because most of my barca boys played in that team. I got to say it was shame that Guaje couldn´t play, I would have loved to see him play. During first games I felt a little bit unsure, because Spain sometimes played well and sometimes terribly. But luckily they have way to rise to the occasion. The game against  France was pretty good, Portugal game made me bite all my nails, and then fingers when they got to the penalties. But especially during the Portugal game there were many moments when Spain would have lost without Iker. I am a cule, but I can confess that Iker Casillas is one of my favorite players outside Barcelona. His saves are just amazing, especially during penalties.
The final against Italy then. I dreaded it, because Italy is a very good team, they have one of the best European goalkeepers, Gigi Buffon. But it turned out to be a relatively easy game, mainly because Xavi played excellently. His performance in some previous games wasn´t on his usual level (meaning world best), but in the final he once again made the team play like a dream. He truly is one of the best playmakers ever played this game. The whole Spain played really beautifully in the final. I think the red card was a little bit harsh but I think Spain would have won anyway.
Fall 2012 has been a good time, in football and real life. Tito has made FC Barcelona plays so well, it's almost like magic. Abidal is back in training I hope we see him play soon, but only if his health lets him. Tito´s disease coming back were terrible news, but the operation went well and I have trust in his strength to make it back to us.
But what about this year? I hope we are going to win La Liga and either CL or Copa Del Rey, but if we are lucky we have a chance to win all three. But it won´t be easy. Also there will be Confederations Cup. I can´t wait it and especially the 2014 World Cup. But this year is just began! Let´s enjoy it. I just hope there won´t be any stupid El Clasico fiasco´s again. So, maybe every football fan should this year concentrate on their own team, instead of mocking other teams. I at least will try.
