Agh! So, let me tell you, last night, first time DJing in front of a crowd of strangers, for the first time, in a LONG time, was absolutely the most nerve-wracking fucking experience ever. The last crowd I had spun for had been a bunch of developmentally handicapped young adults for my old high school. This was a crowd of old and young rich people enjoying their vacation.
I was anxious as hell because none of the music I own is "clean versions", so I had to constanly find ways of blending all the "fucks", "niggers", "bitches", "shits", "weeds" out of everything. I did manage to mix Sexy Back and Yeah tho... and that killed. Last song in my set, and it killed.
I was asked to do it again for a bit tonight, but I think I'll bow out. I enjoy it, but I think the people spin for deserve a lil' better than some dude mixin together as much as possible and muttering "Coño!" to himself all the time.
I was also hit on while I was spinning last night, by a few people from Toronto. I called Victor so that he could use his swarthy latin charm on them and take them out, but the sonofabitch was asleep by the time I called. So he didn't get to go out with Canadians. I also called my man-whore friend Okram, but he also couldn't come. SO no one went out, and I just went home to watch Star Wars. That's my rockstar life for you.
I have a meeting at La Romana tomorrow morning to discuss some contract work, and then I have an interview for a publicity position a one of the bigger hotels in the area. So yeah, I'm excited, but lazy. I want to go to the beach. It's been a week, so I think I'm due.
