funny conversations you overhear about fandom...
so i was standing in line for my coffee, and while i was waiting i caught some conversation from the workers who were talking about harry potter.
they're both graduate students, and the girl was going on about how she would reread the books every summer, and goes, "i mean, i might do that, and can quote parts verbatim, and might know the titles of all the chapters... but i'm not going to get all philosophical."
pause. "or write fanfiction."
the guy says, "have you read any of that stuff?"
girl goes, "yeah i know, some of it's ridiculous, and there are really weird pairings..."
meanwhile i'm standing there trying really hard not to laugh.
and then a little while later the girl says, "...and some of these people are OUR age!"
clearly she hasn't read any of the good stuff! xD
