1. Andy beats Casey decisively. Eventually, flagrantly gloating, he is justifiably killed. Let me now, overtly (prehaps quite redundantly) show the ungracious victor's wounds. What three things are missing from this story?

2. A man's young daughter is kidnapped. After several tense days, the kidnapper sends the man the girl's ear. Instead of being dismayed, the man is relieved. He ceases all attempts to communicate with the kidnapper. The man is a good and caring father, and it is definitely his daughter's ear. Why was he relieved?

3. A Manhattan docter walks across the entire island of Manhattan, from north to south, without seeing another person. It was the middle of a bright, clear weekday, and the doctor can see perfectly well out to the horizan in all directions. He was not underground or in a vehicle. How could this happen?

4. If you're at the North Pole, you can only go south. If you're at the South Pole, you can only go south. Where in the world would you be if you could go north or south but not east or west?

5. It has been common knowledge for centuries that sleeping outdoors cures insomnia. All modern doctors agree that it will work. Why is this so?

6. A man loses control and drives 90 mph into an oncoming car. Neither the man or his car are hurt. How can this be?

7. A young girl falls off her bike while riding, hitting her head against the sidewalk. She is knocked out. When she wakes up, she can speak fluent German. How is this possible?

8. A man pushes his non-functional car to a nearby hotel. Once he gets there, he realizes he is bankrupt! Why did he only realize this once he reached his destination?

9. A noted mafioso hires Vinnie to kill the bothersome Pulga family. Vinnie kills them all. There are many honest witnesses, but Vinnie is never arrested. None of the witnesses needed to be intimidated into silence, no police needed to be bribed, and Vinnie went about his normal life afterwards. How can this be?

10. I came home one day to discover a masked man there who hit me! And to make things worse, the authorities said that I, not he, had to leave! Is this justice?

11. Lisa and her family moved in to a new home. In fact, it was a fabulous 19th century mansion that they didn't have to pay for! But after eight years, the government made Lisa and her family leave. Why?

12. Elizabeth traveled from New York to Rome. The next day, she went to Paris, then London the following day, then back to New York. In each city she went straight from the airport to the nearest hotel and slept. She had no guests and visited no one. She had no interest in which hotel she slept in, so long as she could get a good night's rest. Why did she do this?

13. What do the shows Battlestar Galactica, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Star Trek The Next Generation, and Rocky III all have in common?

14. One was a general; one was a colonel; one was a civilian. One was wanted for a crime he didn't commit; one was wanted for a crime he did commit; one was wanted, but for no crime at all. If I were to buy them presents, I would get a sword, a cigar, and a fork. They never met and have only nominal similarities. Who are they?

15. Which one is not real: art-o-mat, chair-o-mat, dog-o-mat, vent-o-mat, or safe-o-mat?
