So. I've never been one to like writing about my life. Tried it, hated it, stopped. Which is why I update so infrequently. I understand why other people do it, this is LiveJOURNAL after all. I also worry about flooding my f-list with crap they don't want to read. But then, that's why you get on someone's f-list--to read their stuff. Therefore, here's an update.
Smash Mouth is still my favorite band ever. No change there. The show the other week was amazing. It was overall better than the first one because even though there was no autograph line and no talking to them, it was a standing-only show (way better than the seats in Cardinal Stadium, in which I was the only one standing in my section almost the whole time) and they did all their own stuff (all but 2 of the songs on the new album, plus much more). It was really really great even with the moms and their tiny children. The amount of how much Smash Mouth is not a kids' band is inexpressible. I loved the way they censored nothing they don't always (they always take the "fuck" out of "Let's Rock" at live shows these days). I did sort of get yelled at for being pushed (no, really, I wasn't trying amazingly enough) to the front by some mother and I wished that I could have yelled back properly. Grr. My nephew is 5. He thinks he knows all the words to "AllStar" and dances to it. His mother went to the show, (and took 92 pictures for me, I might add) but she DID not bring him. Because we know better. ANYWAY. End of that rant. Check out the new
album. Check out the Christmas album. Find them on iTunes. Smash Mouth will make your life happier.
Baseball woes ahoy. Reds traded Jason LaRue said my last team e-mail. I am devasted. He was great. He played for Louisville and was called up and they kept him. Living in a AAA team city, that's big. Usually you get attached to players and they get called up and then traded. The Reds kept this guy for YEARS. The list of players I have to keep track of just gets longer... :(
Video game woes. Saturday night my Gamecube memory card erased itself. Commited data suicide. I'm very unhappy as that was ALL my games EVER. I know it doesn't matter in the wider scope of things, but hell, that was years of my time, years of my time with my friends, all my stuff, man. Some things will be fun to replay, but I never ever want to play Double Dash again...ugh.
To end on a happy note, here are a couple links to the new Weebls Stuff cartoons. They amuse me.
Cucumbers ...so WEIRD, but it amuses me. I would say, in Weebls Stuff terms, it's better than Crabs, but not Late Night Shopping
Hams ...Another Bob cartoon. It's crack.
Pastry ... I LOVE this. Genius. It was stuck in my head for a week. It's just that fantastic. Everything you love about Weebl and Bob. (PIE! HATS! SINGING!)
