Chapter 10

The door was closed and the blinds were drawn when Olivia approached Harm's office the next morning. Alex had needed to meet with Mac to work on their case, so Olivia had decided to tag along and talk to Harm alone.

Heads turned in the bullpen as the brunette hobbled in next to her girlfriend. Alex barely seemed to notice the looks as she made her way through Colonel Mackenzie's open door, and Olivia just nodded her head with a polite smile. The crowed seemed to grow quiet as Olivia knocked on the closed door-no one had even attempted to approach the Commander all morning. There was a mumbling from inside the office and Olivia assumed that it meant she could enter.

"Detective." Harm had been watching as Olivia hobbled in, closed the door and reclined into one of the chairs in front of his desk.

"Harm. What's going on? You have been nothing but moody since before you left New York, and I know you aren't usually like that because you were very charming and friendly when we first met."

Harm just looked at her with a blank face, "last time I checked that was none of your business. Now, if you'll excuse me I have work to do."

"When it started affecting the people I care about, it became my business." Liv pushed herself out of her chair and made her way to the door on crutches.

"Is Mac a lesbian?"

She whirled around, and the questioning look in her eyes quickly turned to panic as she squawked and fell on her butt crutches landing next to her.

"What?" She asked incredulously from her heap on the floor as Harm hurried around the desk to help her up.

"Well she has been hanging out with you and Cabot a lot, and she has been distant and moody and well you know…"

"Yes, and Alex and I also hang out with Melinda, Kathy, Abby, and Casey and last time I checked they were all straight. Well Casey is questionable, but you get the point."

Harm humphed as he plopped into the chair next to her and put his head in his hands. "So, you don’t think she's gay?"

"Honestly I have no clue, but I could always introduce her to Serena and we can find out from there."

"What do you mean, is this Serena irresistible to lesbians?" harm quirked an eyebrow as he peeked up at her.

"No." She smirked. "She only falls for the straight ones."

He could only laugh as the detective once again pushed herself out of the chair and winked at him. 'Why don't you ask her, it normally works."

"You know I can't do that, what if she says yes. Last time I checked she was still in the military."

"And you would be the one to rat her out right?"

"I am a military officer."

"Yes you are, and she is your best friend. Last time I checked some things were more important than your job."

"Is that something you learned from your vast experience as a NYPD detective?"

"No, from a young ambitious ADA that was looking to the DA's chair. Last time I checked the people of New York City would not elect an openly gay District Attorney." With that Olivia left Harm thinking in his office, shutting the door behind her.
