The Young and the Restless 40/?
They called Alex on their way in and she met them at the station. Ward Bryant met them there too eager to get his client’s case over with. Not surprisingly Bryant wanted to deal but what did surprise Alex was that he took the first one that was offered which wasn’t very advantageous to his client. He seemed agitated and in a hurry to get out of the precinct. Olivia just stood across from him in the interrogation room shooting him daggers with her brooding brown eyes.
Once the deal was made Elliot told Olivia he’d finish up with Adam if she wanted to go home or out or whatever. She stopped at her desk to grab her cell phone and keys before heading out the door. Alex gathered her things as well and was getting ready to leave when Elliot stopped her.
"Can I talk to you for a minute?" he asked. His voice carried an air of intensity beyond what was normal for the passionate detective.
"Of course." Alex responded assuming it was work related. They walked to a secluded corner of the empty precinct. He turned and looked at her his eyes concentrating on how he was going to word what he wanted to say.
"Just what do you think you are doing to my partner?" he asked trying to sound calm and rational.
Alex’s eyes went wide as she folded her arms across her chest taking a defensive stance. "Pardon me? What are you talking about?"
Elliot got a little closer as he spoke, "Don’t give me that line of bullshit, since the moment you walked through those doors from the Morris commission you’ve had one agenda and that’s to fuck with my partner. Now I know you two had a past, but I don’t know if you have been paying attention lately but she is going into a tailspin right now and its because every time she turns around you are fucking with her head." His anger was clearly evident at this point.
Alex was unphazed as she stood her ground. "What is going on between Olivia and I is none of your business."
The veins in Elliot’s neck bulged as he responded, "It is my business because she’s my partner and my best friend. Women come in and out of her life but no one has ever taken her for this kind of ride before. She loves you. She doesn’t love easily and she loves you. She’s walking around like an open wound for you. You need to start respecting that."
"You don’t know how I feel." Alex responded defensively.
"I know you don’t feel much."
"You don’t know anything about us."
"What made you walk into SVU huh? I’m sure with your connections you could have gotten with any division in the city but you chose the one where you knew she’d be…why?"
"I don’t have to explain myself to you." Alex spoke the anger reddening her face.
"No, no you don’t have to explain yourself to me, I don’t give a shit about you…plus I think you’re only here for the votes. But Olivia does give a shit about you. So you better explain yourself to her." When he finished he walked away he couldn’t look at Alex anymore.
Alex felt exposed. Elliot had laid her heartless agenda out on a platter and it made her feel sick to her stomach.
