=and now both of them are nowhere, man...= Nice play of words, especially for my nowheremannish mood with the snow outside my window melting down as soon as it reaches ground. ;) As for being nowhere, yes Lennon sang "Imagine there's no heaven, above us only sky" If there was no heaven for him, he's now SOMEwhere NOwhere. But I hope it's the better place for him in any case - he was a man od peace and love at last. As for Chapman, we may call the Attica Prison the place in the middle of nowhere. At least, there's no way out for Chapman. Nor he's going to get a parole any time soon, in my opinion. The last but not the least in my present list: my best regards to you, Sir Nicholas! :)
Yes, I do. :) I've known about it for years but managed to watch it only a few months ago. The book is much better. It's a very psychologically well-tuned SF-detective. In English translation it's called "Inspector Glebsky's Puzzle". Have you read it?
i quite like the tv attempt to film it all the same - but it's true, many of the brothers' books could yet be made into great films (IMO) and Glebsky is among them.
i like the early (1968) solaris - though it is a butchery of Lem - so clearly, i am not much of a critic LOL! :))
=i like the early (1968) solaris - though it is a butchery of Lem= As much as I like Tarkovsky's Stalker, I hate his Solaris. You put it right - it's the butchery of Lem. Moreover, I have a pretty different idea of the aesthetics of Solaris.
Gosh! Vassily Lanovoy as Chris and Vladimir Etush as Sartorius! You know, my friend, this time, you managed to surprise me - I never knew about that TV-film! :)
