My trip to Seattle.

It was so good to see Andrea. Even though it's been a year, it didn't feel like much time had passed between us at all.

We were lucky to find a sweet little bar that played some great tunes and was covered in art floor to ceiling.

However, the city itself left something to be desired. From what we could see and intuit, on a whole, it's a dump. It's always somewhat shocking to visit major American cities, as there are so many areas full of run down infrastructure and destitute people. The poorest of the poor; something we Canadians do not see much of. And I'm not talking homeless, because we have our fair share of homelessness, it's more that level between homelessness and just making it. Like, these people aren't really even scraping by, but they aren't actually on the streets either. They're just... desperate. We felt nervous and anxious most of the time we were there, like we truly felt like maybe we'd get mugged or witness something horrfically violent. I don't like being in a country where I almost expect gun violence to break out at any time. Overall, we all concluded that Seattle is not a place any of us would choose to visit again, and it made us miss Canada, a lot.

We did witness a small protest though. It was nice to see some Americans taking a stand against the shady politics of present.

We walked over to the Space Needle and the Music Museum. We thought we'd go in, but then decided against the $20 admission fee. Instead, we looked around the front lobby area where there was enough items on display to satisfy our curiosity.

Michael Jackon's famous sparkling glove.

Alice Cooper's welcome to my nightmare.

This one's for you Cheryl and Mo -- Sonny and Cher.

The King's leather coat.

Kate, Kate and Cindy!

Come, as you are... Kurt Cobain's sweater.

Andrea and her boy Jai.

This was a nice area, the Pike Place Market. I assume this is the part of town where "Frasier" would hang out.

I was glad to head home to beautiful Victoria. But I already miss Andrea.
