Sometimes I think that if Walter Benjamin had lived to see present days (which is utterly impossible, of course), he would have updated his ideas concerning works of art, their reproducibility, and, most importantly, the aura. He would have argued, I think, that nowadays the aura of art belongs to live musical performances. This is where one can find it, feel it, breathe it. At least, this is how live performances work for me, provided they are not a disappointment.

I have gone to see Morrissey today, and I nearly died. And if I had done, that would have been one happy death.
