failed daily updates

It turns out I only want to write a journal update when I'm feeling reserved yet confident, the moments when the tide has obviously turned, proof wet beach between me and still-receding sea. This is how I'm feeling now. Although of course there are many things to be done I know many of their names, the nameless dread that comes when time well and truly squeezes is for the moment away.

It turns out I had time to teach Paideia classes this year, it is too late to sign up. A pity although I have no specific information that I know everybody at Reed College needs.

Today I had a perfect ripe avocado, a top twentieth percentile avocado at least, perhaps even top fifteenth. Good enough that only circumstances surrounding consumption place it. The best avocado I ever ate, like the worst job I ever had, both only collections of place-holding words signifying nothing. Good avocados were always good.

The dance studio I work at could fit inside On the Board's mainstage theater. On the Board's mainstage theater could fit inside Lincoln Hall. Lincoln Hall is contained by Portland. The San Gabriel Mission Playhouse still the largest theater I've ever worked in. Theaters like automobiles surprisingly consistent within broad categories. The biggest I've driven vans and small box trucks. You drive the bigger ones differently, physics change as scales swell. People become tiny with distance and all the light in the world cannot swell their face huge. The best you can do is transpose a limited range of contrast and hues onto a matrix of colored dots; most people will forgive the approximate representation. Most people have only seen good lighting represented on a matrix of colored dots.
