On tap for today

It's stunningly beautiful around here, and today demands grilling. I got up early (for me on a Saturday) and headed down to Eastern Market to pick up a local delicacy: half smokes.

Half smokes are best described as spicy sausages of coarsely ground meat, and the real thing can only be purchased uncooked from one vendor in town, although they're available around town at either the landmark Ben's Chili Bowl or most street vendors.

I am excited.
