My thoughts on the movie "Final Girl."
Saw "Final Girl" on Netflix. Great movie, cool premise. It's about this girl who's been trained to survive under extreme conditions, and trained how to kill. Her mission is to become the target of a bunch of teenage serial killer boys, survive their "hunt," and kill them all one by one. Which she does. It's brilliant and plays perfectly into my love of watching fictional bad guys get what's coming to them, as each one hallucinates their own private Hell from the drug cocktail she slipped them, and then dies by her hand.
My only question is, if her handler dude knew who these guys were, why not just kill them himself? They never addressed that. I mean, if they'd just said something to indicate that she would do more things like this, instead of letting us presume it, then that'd be okay. I can't deny it was hilarious watching this 18 year old girl, little waif of a thing played by Abigail Breslin, beat the shit out of these assholes and kill them one by one. Maybe that's the handler dude's motivation? I dunno. I mean at first I assumed she was just supposed to survive and testify against them in court, but then she kills them, so that's where I started getting confused. But oh well, still a cool movie.
