"What kind of things do anti-fluoridation activists “spew” at you? And how do you rebuff them? I support water fluoridation by the way."
Oh, I’ve heard arguments like “fluoride is a rat poison,” “you know fluoride is toxic cuz you’re not supposed to swallow toothpaste,” “fluoride is a waste product,” and others I can’t think of offhand and can’t track down right now. And of course, they never cite even a single reputable source to support their bullshit arguments. Not to mention, most of their arguments are illogical. Like fluoride being toxic; I keep pointing out to them that ANYTHING in sufficient quantities can make you sick or even kill you: even WATER. But do they ever listen? Of course not. They’re like young-earth creationists or flat-earthers: they’ve already made up their mind and there isn’t a goddamn thing that will convince them they’re wrong.
