Electricity is vital in our modern world. I know of nobody, save perhaps homeless people, who don't rely on it for their everyday life. It keeps our cold food cold, and our frozen food frozen. A great many people have electric heating, and rely on electricity to keep them warm in the cold winters. Most people these days cook either with microwave ovens, or electric stoves. I, for one, buy a lot of cheap, dry bulk foods that keep really well but require cooking to be any use at all. If my power went out, I would have to eat from my stores of canned goods, which doesn't look so impressive right now. Once I run out of those, most of my food is either ruined or useless.

Which is why I say with utmost conviction: IT OUGHT TO BE ILLEGAL TO SHUT OFF SOMEONE'S ELECTRICITY DUE TO NON-PAYMENT, THE SAME WAY IT'S ILLEGAL TO SHUT OFF THEIR WATER!

I have a fixed fucking income, and last month's electricity bill was inexplicably 3 times higher than usual. No, check that; FOUR times higher. And I only have enough to cover half of it.

FUCK THIS WORTHLESS BABY-RAPING SOCIETY! MAY THE HEAVENS SPLIT APART AND RAIN FIRE ON THE GOVERNMENT! MAY THE EARTH SPLIT OPEN AND SWALLOW THE CORPORATIONS WHOLE INTO HELL! MAY THE BANKERS SUFFER UNENDING TORMENT AND AGONY AS THEIR FACES MELT AND REFORM OVER AND OVER AGAIN FOR ALL ETERNITY!
