“Robert, honey.” House catches him by the arm. “There’s someone I want you to meet. This is Captain Mitchell; he was in the Corps with Dad. Captain, this is Robert Chase, my precious angel.”
Chase plays along. “So nice to meet you.” He extends a slightly limp hand, horizontally, like he’s not sure whether the Captain is going to shake it or kiss it.
The Captain shakes his hand once, quickly, before dropping it with a barely-evident expression of disgust.
“Robert works with me at the hospital. My right-hand man, so to speak.” House giggles.

“Your father must be very proud,” the Captain manages to say.
“My Robbie was like another son to him,” House agrees, putting his arm around Chase and nuzzling his hair. Chase gazes up at him adoringly, completing the picture of two happy faggots.
“Excuse me, I think I see--” The Captain pretends to wave to someone across the room and hurries off.
“That was fun,” House says in his normal voice, maintaining the pose and his expression of idiotic contentment. “C’mon, let’s see how many more of my father’s military buddies we can scare off.”
“House….” Chase drags him into a corner. “Are you sure you want to make a travesty of your father’s funeral?”
“Yes. I’m pretty sure I do.”
