Seem to be stalled out on the Sentinel!Neal story...this did allow me to get my taxes done and my lawn mowed, so I guess that's good. Anyone have ideas/questions about what happens when Elizabeth shows up, which may prod me into writing the next bit?

El comes and visits and would normally have sexy times with her husband. But El looks similiar to Kate and smells like Peter. Could Neal zone on the sounds coming from the other bedroom? What happens to a Sentinel that has zoned for hours. This would give Blair more proof that Peter is a poor guide and the penal system for Sentinels really has to be changed.

El feels guilty but hey having relations with your husband is what people do. But Neal is a stressed and maybe fragile Sentinel maybe he needs a closer bond to Peter. But that kicks all of Neal's anxieties up and the threat of loosing Peter maybe to much for him to handle.

Orrrr, go the other way and have El kidnapped by Keller a rouge Guide, who always wanted Neal for his own. Proof that guides can be socipaths. Keller mistakes El as the guide and kidnapps her, Peter is forced to choose between his Sentinel and his wife.

Hadn't even thought of bringing Keller into things...I don't think he's a Guide, though--trying to avoid the "everyone important is a Sentinel or Guide" trope of Sentinel crossovers. (It would make a lot of sense if he was, though...)

I agree that having everyone being either a guide or a sentinel can be a problem, like some of the older slash fics where everyone was gay. However, with sentinel and guides it makes sense that like attracts like. Sentinels attract guides and vice versa. I thought that you may want to add more action then just talk. Although the talking has been fun to listen to.

Yeah, it would bring some action into the story...and would also answer the question of what Neal was doing for a Guide before he met Kate. I'll have to think about it more.

Neal cooks them dinner and then makes himself scarce (with or without a flimsy excuse), and Peter and Elizabeth talk, and then track Neal down and El figures out that he's avoiding them? Neal starts avoiding Peter and El, because they haven't seen each other for a while and he can hear and smell them, and that leads to inappropriate thoughts he's trying to avoid, at least while El is in the house? El figures out what's going on between Peter and Neal and confronts Peter, or Neal, or both? Neal starts avoiding Peter and El, but then has some kind of sensory distress episode randomly (does that kind of thing happen?) and they find him while he's trying not to disturb them? Umm, I don't know--I'm just looking forward to it, whatever it is! :-)

Hm, yes, I think some of those things may be happening....

Or head the other direction, with Peter or El or both having done enough reading on the complexities of the situation to insist on counciling before any sex? It could be about not wanting to risk Neal going territorial w/no warning as much as anything else.

Tempting idea, but I don't want the whole story to be people sitting around rationally discussing their problems!

I would think that Neal would try to keep away when Elizabeth comes, in order to give them time for their own - but naturally Elizabeth knows better. So we have El trying to include him, Neal feeling guilty about it, and Peter being as clueless as ever.

It also might be nice if Elizabeth meets some of the people who judge Neal for being being a fellon - I so see her ripping them a new one if possible.

And not Elizabeth-related: It would be nice to get a chapter from Jim and Blair's Pov.

The best relationships are based on common ground. (Where best = longest-lasting, to be clear.) Peter and Neal have art and work and a scary love of puzzles. We need a new common ground between El and Neal, now!

...Can Elizabeth sing?

Well, they do have *Peter*....

Yeah, I meant besides that. I'd hate for them to start treating Peter like the rope in a tug of war, even on accident. I meant something that just the two of them could have in common, and build on. Love of fine food! Or maybe a hobby or two that they're both semi-interested in and could learn more about together.

Well, El enjoys fine cuisine, art and pottery - I always thought that those two are actually very similiar in some regards. El is actually like a mix between Neal and Peter - very sophisticated like Neal, but also very down-to-earth like Peter.

Hey, Perhaps Neal and El could get together for some downtime withough Peter, visiting a Galery or something like that.
