Love! I can't tel you how much I adore this universe. I've been laughing out loud so much, I love Blair going all rabid over anthropology, and the four of them all screwing with Tim and Michelle's heads, showing them how well real team work works for healthy, happy Sentinels and Guides. It might take a long time, but I think they might really have a chance to changing things for everyone. ..and now I also want to see some marine sentinel and guides! You gave us some fascinating hints of what they're like, I want moooore! I could seriously read whole novels of just your world building.

Thanks for commenting! Yeah, when I get around to writing the rest of the story, eventually we'll meet a Marine Corps Sentinel.

I haven't read the fic yet, but in response to your 4 options: my favourites are #2 and #3 because I absolutely adore Kas and Angel.

I'd gladly read any of them of course, and I'm just about to read what you've posted of the Finding Home sequel so will comment again after that...

Oh, and don't ever feel reluctant to write OCs, or not write the canon characters. You write *great* OCs.

Quick bit of concrit while I'm reading:

That made it easy. He and Blair rode up on one machine

Who's "he" here? I initially thought Tim, but then Jim made more sense... you might want to clarify :)

I adore Kas and Angel too! (It's probably obvious...) What I ought to do, really, is find a way to file the serial numbers off and write them as an original novel.

I'm interested in reading them. I love your writing style. And since I never watched The Sentinel TV show, AUs and OC aren't an issue at all.

This actually seems to be quite common in the Sentinel fandom. I know I've only seen one episode (and didn't care for it much) but I read a lot of the fic.

Ooh, shiny new Sentinel stuff. I also vote for 2 and 3. Number 3 excites me a lot! I had that same thought while reading Kas and Angel's basic training fic. I would probably go for 4 if I knew your new OCs. Looking forward to meeting them ( ... )

I like the hints in here that Blair at least is aware that a good bit of the sentinel/guide shit is an effort to control the sentinels--keeping the elephant from figuring out that it's stronger than the human. If you keep sentinels and guides at odds, you can "side" with the sentinels against the guides, ensuring that the sentinels and guides won't side with each other against you. Sentinels want/need guides, G-TAC controls the supply of guides, therefor G-TAC controls the sentinels. Except that if sentinel and guide bond, G-TAC can't remove/threaten to remove the guide, thus they have no control. But if all guides "know" that all sentinels are abusive assholes, why should they risk bonding to one that seems nice, only to discover that they're permanently linked to a sadistic psychopath ( ... )

You know, I didn't really think about the effects of the Guide-swapping on relationships among the Sentinel School students. My thinking was more that they wouldn't want the baby Sentinels developing a relationship with a particular School Guide--the Guides there are known troublemakers, and might give the kids Ideas, and anyway, what they want is for the Sentinels to see Guides as interchangeable pieces of equipment, rather than as individuals with their own personalities and needs. But you're absolutely right, at the same time it would also ensure that the Sentinels don't get along too well.

Well, the territoriality would also encourage the baby sentinels to treat the guides worse, because if they started to form an emotional connection with one, they'd be forced to see that guide "betray" them with another sentinel the next day.

Intentional or not, there were an awful lot of implications in the sentinel school curriculum, including the film that Angel objected to, that guides will betray a sentinel if given half a chance--isn't it nice that G-TAC can help the sentinels prevent that?
