I've been watching the press conferences live and been trying to get my hands on as much news as possible, so I'm trying to put my thoughts straight here. Expect a lot of rambling after the cut.
I missed the biggest part of the 360 press conference, because I was being lazy on our balcony and burning to a crisp. Of course I did hear about Metal Gear Solid Rising. A Raiden game could be really fun, but the tag line Lightning Bolt Action makes absolutely no sense. I really want to see where they will be going with this game oooh Kojima, you troll.
I missed a rather big part of the Nintendo press conference as well, due to it being straight during dinner. I started watching around the Golden Sun DS announcement (yay Golden Sun :D). I really like the 2D New Super Mario Bros. game for the Wii as well, not to mention the Super Mario Galaxy 2. SMG2 might just be a cheap way of getting money, but apparently Miyamoto (during his closed round-table meeting today) told the press, that some of the ideas he had during the creation of the first SMG never were put in the first game, so new content?
The trailer that exited me the most was the Metroid trailer they showed at the end. It's announced for 2010 and I honestly can't wait :D
Nintendo's press conference was a lot better than the one last year, but honestly, it's not that hard to be better than that.
I saw Sony's press conference completely and these were the things that really jumped out for me.
Uncharted 2 looked really gorgeous, that was one of the best trailers I have seen and it looked rather fun as well.
The PSP Go was "officially announced" as well. But way too expensive T_T
Kojima announced Metal Gear Solid: Peace Maker for PSP. The game will start 10 years after Snake Eater and will once again feature Big Boss. It wil have quite a bit to do with Outer Heaven :D
A lot of nice releases for the PSP such as Little Big Planet and a remake of the first Persona game (listening to that OST right now and I personally prefer the old one, but I can see how it could be smart to change it). All these good games almost make me want to buy a PSP.
The God of War III gameplay was awesome, really looking forward to that one, coming out March 2010.
Also I can't have been the only one that tought that the motion controller prototype for the PS3 looked like a sex toy... right?
Also Kojima collaborating with MercurySteam on a new Castlevania ♥
Atlus is also bringing out some new stuff my wallet weeps. Such as Shiren the Wanderer for Wii and Trauma Team also for Wii. As a big Trauma Center fan I'm really exited to see what they will do with Trauma Team, but I really like the idea, can't wait to see how it will work out. Also apparently Miyamoto announced a new Zelda for Wii during a closed meeting today *fangirls.
