I remembered :) and to tell the truth I considered including also Mordewind, but not in this entry. I'd rather them in another one, with original un-recycled songs. Yeah, there's dozens of Polish shanty bands, it's quite a big stream, though totally niche, never heard in mainstream media. If you'd like, try here, there's a hundred bands or so. Just pick a directory, and once you get a list of files (looking like here), you can listen to them online. Just hover the cursor at the right, under the MB & date, to show the 'play' button. Hey, if some song (or songs) intrigues you, don't hesitate to ask about them, please! Maybe it'll be useful for another post. :)

very cool stuff in the covers section!
Yes, I found the Welsh one, but didn't manage the Norwegian, at least in a quick search.

it's a bit odd hearing the strongly Irish 'Follow me up to Carlow' in Polish!
I'm sure it must be a peculiar experience, I often regret that I'm not able to hear the language this way, since it's 'transparent' for me. You know, the funny thing is that it's hard to follow the lyrics in their performance, so 'thick' and overloaded with words it is, and almost melting with music. You need to read it somewhere, to really get it. But I can also say the lyrics is quite well written. Mordewind usually has good lyrics, tarred, sea-doggy and not-quite-for-young-ladies. No wonder, even their name is a bit of this sort.

Thanks for coming and the response!
