What fun! That Phillip and Syrena one really is lovely, (says the girl who loves mermaids), and the Tia one is really cool, too. I think the artist made the style... work for her, if that makes sense. (Not an art critic.) And the expressions on Jack and Barbossa's faces in the one with the apples are priceless.

Lovely, that's it. I think they're a wonderful inspiration, and deserve a lot of fanworks. Not to mention that I was delighted when I heard about mermaids in PotC too!

I like the Tia portrait best of the three - but then I love art nouveau and this is so clever.

I've a soft spot for Art Nouveau too, and what's interesting, it seems to be popular in the fandom. At the moment, I can recall at least two or three such pieces, not counting the Tia one.
