It's rather ironic that you invoke Henry Ford right after implying that living in North Carolina makes one more racist than living in Detroit.

I just pointed out an irony, which in my book doesn't necessarily mean a flaw. If you see it as a flaw, adjust the poem as you see fit. You're the poet.

Feedback--that is, knowing how a reader reacts--is the first step in constructive criticism.
